Dr. Amit Jha, MD, MPH


Bio

Dr. Jha is currently director of spinal cord injury services at the Salt Lake City Veterans Medical Center and associate professor at University of Utah. He did his medical training at University of Colorado and residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at University of Washington, Seattle WA. In addition, he completed a Master’s in public health from University of Washington. He worked for years at University of Colorado, Denver, CO and was the residency director of the physical medicine and rehabilitation program.  He was also active clinically and funded with multiple research grants at Craig Hospital, Denver, CO. 

Dr. Jha has published multiple studies involving spinal cord injury management and outcomes.  He is uniquely positioned to understand the issues from a public health perspective as an outcomes researcher, a clinical perspective as a physiatrist, and from a personal perspective of someone living with spinal cord injury.  His participation as clinical stakeholder: research partner is a huge addition to our efforts with this grant.
